Making Progress

So, I’ve officially separated SoCo Studio from my coaching business. The “business” side of my music journey now lives under You Rock Studio (yes, I filed the D/B/A—shlepped downtown and everything!). There’s something about dealing with government forms that makes it all feel real, right?

I’ve launched a new website, printed business cards, started an Instagram, and even set up a fancy MS365 account so I can email from the domain like a grown-up. 😎 This blog will still focus on my songs and personal progress, but just wanted to let you know what’s cookin’.

Here’s a fun one: I’m a VIP sponsor for the inaugural Texas Women Songwriter Festival this fall—You Rock Studio will be making its big debut there! I’m also heading to a BMI intro session this week. Performing isn’t really my thing (my cat, Zeke, remains my most loyal audience), but I’d love for a real-deal musician or band to pick up one of my songs. So I’m diving in to learn how it all works.

Speaking of stretching outside my comfort zone: my new guitar teacher invited me to play one of my songs at her July showcase. You can catch me rehearsing on TikTok.) I think I’m doing it. Still deciding which song to play—but I did buy a spectacular turquoise suede fringe jacket, so I mean… it’d be a shame not to show that off. 😂

Last update—and this one’s technically a You Rock Studio thing, too—I’ve connected with a few Suno producers interested in working with our little startup. One of them is even here in Austin! Very exciting stuff ahead.

Thanks for following along! More soon. 💫
